Club Intro

Cleveleys Road Club has a long tradition of providing cycle touring, racing and social activities. Formed in 1937, it is the oldest established club on the Fylde Coast and has the backing of a firm constitution.  A strong committee ensures the Club’s rules are followed.

We have members in our club with many years of experience offering advice on touring, racing, cycle equipment and clothing to members new to cycling.

Consistency and quality are our aims with regular rides throughout the week. Members are kept in touch with club news and activities via our Google website, calendar, members Facebook page, WhatsApp and by email.

Membership is open to cycling enthusiasts aged 16 and over across the Fylde Coast and  Northwest, all you need to do is join and ride!

We meet on most days of the week at the junction of Mains Lane and Shard Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde, FY6 9BU.  Official Rides are - Sundays 9:30, Tuesdays 9.30am, Wednesdays 9.30am and Thursdays 9.30am

We also meet regularly on Saturdays at 9.30 and other days, these rides are usually arranged individually between members.

Destinations are usually decided on the day depending on the weather and rides are typically 30-50 miles return to whichever café is fancied.

Once or twice a month during Spring, Summer and Autumn we attempt to have an all-day or longer ride at touring pace often covering 80-100 miles depending on the weather. These rides will be advertised in advance and may start earlier than 9.30am. and are classed as social rides, other clubs are welcome to join. The intention is not to deliberately include epic climbs and challenges but to have a pleasant day out to places like Silverdale, Ingleton, Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale and over the Ribble to Southport.  All these rides normally meet at Mains Lane lights or pre-arranged meeting points around the Fylde. Park and rides are also arranged.

Groups can be organized to accommodate all levels of fitness, and designed to match ability and ambitions. The goal is to deliver steady paced rides and a decent mid-point cafe break to refresh riders and nobody will be left behind.

If you fancy coming along and trying a few rides, please contact the club on the website or Facebook for advice on which days and rides will suit you.

Happy cycling!
